Black. It’s the colour choice that dominates the streets of Melbourne. Many attribute this monochrome fashion trait to the city’s European roots, but Italian Marketing Manager Francesco is playing his part in shaking up this Melbourne fashion perception with his playful approach to style.
Sure, Francesco is a sucker for monochrome clothing too, but he insists on injecting colour into his look with the introduction of prints and pops of bright colour wherever he can.
In the past 2 years Francesco has travelled a lot, and in the process has scaled back his look to be more considered and streamlined with only the essential wardrobe staples that he needs.
A scaled back quantity has only enhanced quality though with select pieces from refined brands like IDYSM friends Vanishing Elephant offering some contemporary quality to Francesco’s refined wardrobe.
And yes, monochrome is the order of the day in pretty much everything he wears, apart from some considered injections of colour and character that add some edge and fun to both Francesco’s look, and the streets of Melbourne.
As for footwear, comfort was the main factor that saw these slick all-black Nike Free’s appeal to Francesco but to me they epitomised his look.
Sure, he’s loyal to both the Euro and Melbournian respect for monochrome, but with the Free there’s a playful twist that see’s a shoe with practical functionality combined with that sense of something out of the ordinary.
Francesco is Free.
